Reporting boundary
The current GRI 302 profile covers direct conservation and efficiency results within the reporting organization and excludes reductions caused by lower production capacity or outsourcing. The future GRI 103 profile separately labels other factors and value-chain categories.

Record-specific limitations
- This metric is not the same as a year-on-year decrease in reported energy consumption.
- Counterfactual baselines and causal attribution can be uncertain.
- Lower production, outsourcing, organizational change or weather can reduce observed consumption without representing efficiency.
- Interacting initiatives cannot be added without an overlap-safe attribution method.
- Current GRI 302 and future-effective GRI 103 use different cause and boundary semantics.
Interpret this metric with the stated reporting boundary, period convention, value shape, and unit. Results prepared with different boundaries or conventions may not be directly comparable.
