Invasive alien species introduction profile
Measurement answer
What this metric measures
Location-specific record of an invasive alien species that an activity has or could introduce, with the introduction or spread pathway and any measured occupied area retained.

Reporting boundary
One invasive taxon, declared site or supply-chain context, assessment period, jurisdictional status source, and actual or potential introduction or spread pathway after synonym resolution.

Value structure
Dimensions and units
- Unit
- Structured table — see field-level units
- Reporting basis
- Reporting-period pathway status and dated occupied-area observation
Unit meaning: This metric is reported as a structured table; each field carries the unit stated in the table fields below.
Table fields and units
- Taxon, synonym, taxonomic authority, invasive-status source and edition, and jurisdiction
- Site or product, actual or potential, deliberate or accidental, introduction or spread, and pathway
- Activity, receiving ecosystem, prevention or management action, observation date, and source
- Occupied area (ha — hectares of the named occupied area; 1 ha = 10,000 m²), if measured
- Distinct-species roll-up key, data method, and uncertainty
Published dimensions
- Taxon, invasive-status edition, location, actual or potential pathway, activity, and observation

Disclosure form
No single formulaPopulate the structured fields from qualifying source observations and retain each field-level unit, boundary, status, and method; do not collapse the disclosure into one calculated value.

Evidence and status sources
Sustopedia checked each record-specific claim directly against primary publisher material. Labels distinguish current measurement authority from future compatibility and corroborative, legal, edition, or method status context. Corroborative evidence can support a stated limitation but cannot establish the core measurement by itself.

Source-edition basis: Effective GRI 101: Biodiversity 2024 invasive-species profile and binding ESRS E4-5 under Regulation (EU) 2023/2772.
- Name accepted taxon, synonyms, taxonomic authority, invasive-status source, edition, jurisdiction, and location.
- State actual or potential, deliberate or accidental, introduction or spread, pathway, activity, and receiving ecosystem.
- State prevention or management action, observation date, data source, uncertainty, and deduplication key.
- If occupied area is measured, state hectares of the named area, where 1 hectare equals 10,000 square metres.
- Keep species count, pathway occurrences, and occupied area as separate value types.
Record-specific limitations
- Jurisdictional invasive-species lists differ and change, so status source and edition are required.
- A potential pathway is not an observed introduction, and presence does not establish enterprise causation.
- Occupied area can be estimated and method-sensitive and cannot be added to a species count or pathway occurrence.
Interpret this metric with the stated reporting boundary, period convention, value shape, and unit. Results prepared with different boundaries or conventions may not be directly comparable.
Measurement evidence supports the core record-specific claims described above. Corroborative evidence can support limitations, while compatibility and status sources provide their separately labelled context. None of these cards by itself determines an organisation's legal applicability, filing readiness, assurance status, or compliance conclusion.
