- Name product, model or family, product group, market, criterion, product or packaging layer, governing method, edition, and assessment date.
- For service life, state years or another fully named duration, use and maintenance conditions, benchmark, and benchmark edition.
- For ratings, state points, named rating system, scale minimum, maximum, direction, method edition, and evidence.
- For designed recyclability, state percentage of named product or packaging mass under the named method and edition; do not label it recycled content.
- Keep criteria separate and state measurement, test, model, estimate, assurance, and representativeness basis.
Record-specific limitations
- Design intent or a laboratory rating does not establish actual product lifetime, repair, collection, reuse, or recycling outcomes.
- Duration, repairability, reuse, recyclability, recycled content, and other criteria do not form one universal additive score.
- Methods, rating scales, industry benchmarks, and delegated requirements differ by product group, edition, and jurisdiction.
Interpret this metric with the stated reporting boundary, period convention, value shape, and unit. Results prepared with different boundaries or conventions may not be directly comparable.
