Reclaimed and reused products and packaging
Measurement answer
What this metric measures
Products and packaging reclaimed during the reporting period as a share of the same product category sold, with count-or-mass basis, rejected-and-recalled exclusions, and reuse or recycling pathways retained separately where available.

Reporting boundary
End-of-use products and packaging collected on behalf of or attributable to the reporting organization under the declared source profile. Rejected and recalled items are excluded, and collection, reuse, and recycling pathways remain separate.

Dimensions and units
- Unit
- Structured table — see field-level units
- Reporting basis
- Products reclaimed and products sold during the reporting period
Unit meaning: This metric is reported as a structured table; each field carries the unit stated in the table fields below.
Table fields and units
- Product or packaging row, product category, material, collection actor, geography, scheme, and period
- Pathway (reclaimed, collected, reused, recycled, or other) and total-or-destination-subset state
- Reclaimed quantity (units of the named category, or kg — kilograms / metric tonnes on a named mass basis)
- Eligible sold quantity (same count or mass basis; rejected and recalled products excluded)
- % of the named product category sold and reclaimed, basis, method, source, estimate state, and cohort limitation
Published dimensions
- Product category, product-or-packaging row, pathway, quantity basis, sold population, scheme, and period

Evidence and status sources
Sustopedia checked each record-specific claim directly against primary publisher material. Labels distinguish current measurement authority from future compatibility and corroborative, legal, edition, or method status context. Corroborative evidence can support a stated limitation but cannot establish the core measurement by itself.

Source-edition basis: Publisher-current GRI 301: Materials 2016 Disclosure 301-3 provides the source-scoped reclaimed profile; binding ESRS E5-5 supplies related take-back context but not the same percentage.
- Name product or packaging row, product category, material, collection actor, geography, scheme, reporting entity, period, and source edition.
- State reclaimed, collected, reused, recycled, or other pathway and whether a row is a total or destination subset.
- State numerator and eligible sold denominator on the same count or named mass basis and exclude rejected and recalled items.
- Label the share as parts per hundred of the named product category sold during the period on the declared basis.
- Aggregate compatible quantities before recalculating and disclose measurement or estimate state, method, source, and cohort limitation.
Record-specific limitations
- Reclaimed means collected for potential reuse or recycling and does not prove a final treatment outcome.
- Products sold during the period may not be the same physical cohort reclaimed during that period.
- Count and mass bases, product categories, products and packaging, schemes, periods, and pathway subsets are non-interchangeable.
Interpret this metric with the stated reporting boundary, period convention, value shape, and unit. Results prepared with different boundaries or conventions may not be directly comparable.
Measurement evidence supports the core record-specific claims described above. Corroborative evidence can support limitations, while compatibility and status sources provide their separately labelled context. None of these cards by itself determines an organisation's legal applicability, filing readiness, assurance status, or compliance conclusion.
