Recordable work-related ill-health cases
Measurement answer
What this metric measures
Cases of source-defined recordable health conditions caused or aggravated by work and notified to or identified by the reporting organization during the reporting period, retained by worker population, latency and privacy status.

Reporting boundary
Keep injury and ill-health cases separate and preserve each source profile’s fatality-inclusion and worker-population rules. Sum only non-overlapping rows after person-case and recurrence deduplication; privacy restrictions and phase-ins never become zero.

Value structure
Dimensions and units
- Unit
- Structured table — see field-level units
- Reporting basis
- Reporting-period identification or notification flow with exposure and onset context
Unit meaning: This metric is reported as a structured table; each field carries the unit stated in the table fields below.
Table fields and units
- Ill-health cases — count of source-defined recordable work-related ill-health cases
- Worker population, condition category, latency, recurrence, and fatality-inclusion rule
- Identification channel, attribution method, exposure site and period, onset period, and reporting period
- Privacy restriction or omission reason, source profile and edition, and assurance status
Published dimensions
- ESRS or GRI recordability profile, edition, and fatality-inclusion rule
- Employee, controlled non-employee, or former-worker status
- Condition category, musculoskeletal classification, acuity, recurrence, and latency
- Notification, agency, healthcare, surveillance, and attribution method
- Exposure, onset, identification, and reporting periods and site
- Privacy restriction, omission reason, source, and assurance status

Evidence and status sources
Sustopedia checked each record-specific claim directly against primary publisher material. Labels distinguish current measurement authority from future compatibility and corroborative, legal, edition, or method status context. Corroborative evidence can support a stated limitation but cannot establish the core measurement by itself.

Source-edition basis: Binding consolidated ESRS S1-14 with current phase-ins and effective GRI 403: 2018 use distinct population and fatality profiles; pending ESRS is compatibility context.
- Name the recordability profile and edition, worker population, condition category and fatality-inclusion rule.
- State identification channel, attribution method, latency, exposure and onset context, and reporting period.
- Keep ill health outside injury records and preserve differing musculoskeletal classifications.
- Represent privacy restriction, phase-in, unknown or not collected as a status rather than zero.
Record-specific limitations
- Long latency, multiple employers, privacy restrictions and underdiagnosis limit attribution and completeness.
- Notification date is not the same as onset or exposure date.
- National disease lists and compensation rules can change eligibility.
Interpret this metric with the stated reporting boundary, period convention, value shape, and unit. Results prepared with different boundaries or conventions may not be directly comparable.
Measurement evidence supports the core record-specific claims described above. Corroborative evidence can support limitations, while compatibility and status sources provide their separately labelled context. None of these cards by itself determines an organisation's legal applicability, filing readiness, assurance status, or compliance conclusion.
